It seems typically British that Sun Awareness Week, an annual event put on by The British Association of Dermatologists, is happening now - AFTER all the beautiful sunny weather has disappeared again! (I actually wouldn't know about the sun as I've just returned from a very rainy holiday in Lisbon, but that's beside the point!!)
As we are all well aware by now the sun is incredibly harmful to us but even more importantly to our little ones. There are now lots of stylish products to help you protect your kids from the rays so no excuses...
Sun hats and bonnets by Olivier Baby - £24
These bonnets and hats created in a selection of the most beautiful Liberty Print Fabrics, are a great way of keeping the sun away from little faces. Each one comes with soft straps to tie under your child's chin so it doesn't slip and fall into their eyes.
Retro Ruffle Swinsuit by Mini Boden - From £14.50
This gorgeous swimming costume is made of UVA and UVB protective fabric, giving protection of up to 50+ SPF.
Sunsuit by Snapper Rock - From £35 Rather than the standard blue and pink selection of naff sunsuits found on the high street, Snapper Rock has a wide variety of colours and styles, all made in UVA 50+ fabric, blocking out 98% of all harmful rays.
Cameleon 3 Breezy Sun Canopy by Bugaboo - £59.95
This Canopy is a must have for beach babies this summer. Made of UPV 50+ fabric with zip pockets for ventilation and easy access to baby, this cover provides head to toe protection not only from the sun but from nasty insects and bugs too.
